VHM crankshafts are manufactured using the finest steels on the market, machined and ground with CNC machines, and heat-treated. Unlike the original crankshaft, the VHM heat treatment covers the entire crankshaft, ensuring unparalleled strength and rigidity. Thanks to this manufacturing technique, VHM crankshafts are much more durable over time and withstand many more connecting-rod replacement operations.
For every application and use, the engine requires a specific power curve, achieved by varying the balance and inertia.
Lower inertia results in greater engine responsiveness, improving acceleration. This type of characteristic is recommended for short and slow tracks.
Higher inertia results in lower responsiveness but ensures greater over-rev capability and a smoother power curve.
Normally, higher inertia provides more consistent power delivery, greater traction, and stronger acceleration during gear changes.
For every motorcycle model, VHM produces a crankshaft with the most requested inertia characteristics.
